In this article we find out how Sacred Heart Catholic University was founded and what are the strengths of its educational offerings.<\/span><\/p>\n

History of the Universit\u00e0 Cattolica<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Catholic University was founded in 1921 in Milan by a group of Catholic intellectuals led by <\/span>Father Agostino Gemelli<\/b>, an Italian physician, psychologist and academic belonging to the Franciscan order. The goal was to create a free university that would provide a comprehensive education, both academic and personal, in line with Christian values. <\/span><\/p>\n

I <\/span>first courses<\/b> active are <\/span>Social Sciences<\/b>, Philosophy, Humanities, Law, and Political Science. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the postwar period, the university decided to establish itself nationwide, opening new campuses throughout Italy. Its educational offerings were adapted to the new needs of the labor market, and thus three new faculties were born: agriculture in the Piacenza campus, economics in Milan, and medicine and surgery in Rome. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the 1970s and 1990s, the various campuses expanded, offering more and more courses of study that were functional for entry into the world of work. New faculties such as Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, Banking, Finance and Insurance, Foreign Language and Literature and, finally, Psychology are also established. <\/span><\/p>\n

Where is Cattolica located in Milan?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The main campus of the Catholic University of Milan is located in the neighborhood of <\/span>Sant’Ambrogio<\/b>, inside an ancient <\/span>Benedictine convent<\/b>. Since 1932, the complex has become the heart of the university.<\/span><\/p>\n

The monastery, originally designed by Donato Bramante, was restored and enlarged by Giovanni Muzio to accommodate an increasing number of students, while keeping its historical and artistic value intact.<\/span><\/p>\n

Catholic University of the Sacred Heart: educational offerings and peculiarities<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La Cattolica is divided into 13 faculties, with a total of 106 degree programs (25 of them in English). The faculties most attractive to students are. <\/span>economics, law and social sciences, and medicine<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a university that invests heavily in the job placement of its enrollees. According to a 2023 survey, 90 percent of Cattolica’s master’s graduates are employed one year after finishing their studies. <\/span><\/p>\n

Being a Catholic university, the curriculum also includes <\/span>courses in Theology<\/b>: three semester courses during the bachelor’s degree and a seminar during the master’s degree or in single-cycle courses.<\/span><\/p>\n

The university is part of a worldwide network of Catholic universities (<\/span>Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities<\/b>), including the Australian Catholic University, Boston College and the Universitat Ramon Llull in Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Catholic University: faculty of medicine and surgery<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The main campus of the Catholic School of Medicine is Rome, with the Monte Mario campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the major points of this institution is the collaboration with the <\/span>Policlinico Universitario \u201cA. Gemelli\u201d<\/b>, which is considered one of the most advanced hospitals in the world; not only for clinical excellence but also for biomedical research and technological innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The faculty’s mission is to combine high-level health care training with the values of Catholic ethics, offering students an education that combines medical, humanistic and relational skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

The faculty also offers courses entirely in English, such as the <\/span>Master’s in Medicine and Surgery<\/b>, intended for Italian and international students.<\/span><\/p>\n

How much does it cost to study at the Catholic University of Milan<\/strong><\/h2>\n

How much does Catholic cost per year? As anticipated, it is a private university, so fees are generally higher than the <\/span>Italian public universities<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some <\/span>degree programs <\/b>provide for a <\/span>fixed taxation<\/b>, but for the most part, tuition fees are calculated by considering the <\/span>family income<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In general, Catholic University contributions range from a <\/span>minimum of 3,300<\/b> euros to a <\/span>maximum of 11,300 <\/b>euros per year (and with the exception of the medical degree program, which can cost up to 15,148 euros). <\/span><\/p>\n

The first and second installments (paid at the time of enrollment and in December of the first year), have a fixed amount of 1470 and 900 euros.<\/span><\/p>\n

Support for international students<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Catholic University pays special <\/span>attention to foreign students<\/b>. A partnership with the Welcome Association Italy union allows members of Sacred Heart Catholic University to obtain the <\/span>health coverage<\/span><\/a> required for <\/span>obtaining a residence permit<\/span><\/a>. In this way, international students are free to train at an Italian academic institution without incurring often complex bureaucratic paperwork. A synergy between two worlds united by the desire to simplify the academic life of their members. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
