ASVI Welcome Day – “United in Rome”: a day dedicated to Vietnamese students in Italy

Rome, Nov. 1, 2025 – At theEmbassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Italy, theASVI Welcome Day – “United in Rome” was held today, an official event organized by theAssociation of Vietnamese Students in Italy (ASVI) under the patronage of the Embassy of Vietnam.

The day was an important moment of welcome and orientation for new Vietnamese students who arrived in Italy, offering practical information, testimonials and useful tools to integrate into the Italian university and social system.


A bridge of cooperation between Italy and Vietnam

The initiative, promoted by the ASVI Executive Committee and chaired by Vu Thi Bich Diep, President of the Association, is part of the cultural and academic cooperation activities between Italy and Vietnam, with the aim of strengthening ties between students, institutions and academic communities.

During the opening ceremony, the Embassy of Vietnam expressed its support for ASVI’s role in promoting the integration and personal growth of young Vietnamese who choose Italy as a destination for their university education.


Information sessions and testimonies

Over the course of the morning, participants followed a multifaceted program of talks, workshops and interactive moments devoted to:

  • Essential procedures for staying in Italy (residence permit, tax code, account opening, health coverage);
  • Orientation to university life and the Italian educational system;
  • Academic and professional opportunities, scholarships and student networking;
  • Q&A meetings with experts and representatives of partner organizations.

Speakers included Welcome Association Italy (WAI), an official partner of the initiative, which provided information and support on health coverage plans for international students and procedures for regularizing residence.

“ASVI Welcome Day is a concrete example of how welcome, cooperation and mutual support can turn into tools for cultural and personal growth. As WAI, we will continue to collaborate with student associations to ensure that every international student in Italy feels part of a solid and inclusive network.”


A time to meet and share

The day ended with a group photo session and informal networking time, which fostered new connections between students from different Italian universities and cities.

The event confirmed the centrality of ASVI’s role in representing the Vietnamese community in Italy and the Vietnam Embassy’s commitment to promoting initiatives that strengthen cultural and academic dialogue between the two countries.
