Two Countries, One Faith: Monaco and Bolivia united under the banner of dialogue and spirituality

A diplomatic initiative of high symbolic value for Jubilee 2025

Rome, Nov. 6, 2025 – At the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Via Marsala 42, the inauguration of the photographic exhibition “Two Countries, One Faith,” jointly promoted by the Embassies of the Principality of Monaco and the Plurinational State of Bolivia to the Holy See, was held.

The event provided an important opportunity for different cultures, religions and sensibilities to meet, united by the same aspiration to promote peace, solidarity and universal brotherhood in view of Jubilee 2025.

Dialogue between cultures and diplomacies

The exhibition celebrates the deep spiritual bond that unites Monaco and Bolivia, two realities that are geographically distant but united by a living faith and a common vision of dialogue between peoples.

The initiative is part of the broader calendar of diplomatic and cultural activities that, during the Jubilee year, see the collaboration of representations to the Holy See, academic institutions and international organizations.

The inauguration was attended by representatives of the accredited diplomatic corps, the ecclesiastical and academic worlds, as well as delegations from cultural bodies and associations involved in promoting intercultural dialogue.

The participation of Welcome Association Italy

Also among the participants was Welcome Association Italy (WAI), represented by Deputy National Secretary Carlo Palumbo, who stressed in his speech the importance of fostering bridges of collaboration between communities:

“Events like this testify to how faith, culture and diplomacy can coexist in a single vision of cooperation. Relations between peoples are also built through symbolic gestures such as these, capable of uniting different sensitivities and traditions in a common horizon of peace.”

The presence of WAI, which has been committed for years to promoting the integration of international students and dialogue between young people and institutions, aimed to reaffirm the educational and cultural value of contemporary diplomacy as a tool for solidarity and shared growth.

Culture and faith as tools for cooperation

The opening was enriched by moments of music and spiritual reflection, which paid tribute to the universal dimension of faith. The images on display recounted the sacred places and religious traditions of the two countries, testifying to a commonality of values based on mutual respect and the pursuit of peace.

The “Two Countries, One Faith” exhibition will remain open to the public throughout the following week, offering visitors a photographic journey into the heart of the two cultures.

Conclusion

The meeting confirmed the growing role of cultural diplomacy in creating bonds of brotherhood among nations and promoting interfaith dialogue as a way to harmonious coexistence.

Welcome Association Italy will continue to support, in synergy with diplomatic representations and international bodies, initiatives aimed at building an Italy that is increasingly open, supportive and a protagonist in global processes of cooperation.
